Terms of Service

Effective date: May 6, 2026

Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Memento, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms supplement Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Description of service

Memento is a personal life-awareness app that helps you reflect on the passage of time. It calculates life expectancy estimates based on actuarial data and optional health metrics. These estimates are statistical illustrations. They are not medical advice, predictions, or diagnoses. If you are signed into iCloud, your profile and preferences are synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit service.

Subscriptions

Memento offers an optional auto-renewable subscription (Memento Premium) that unlocks additional features. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscription prices are set in App Store Connect and may vary by region. Price changes are communicated by Apple according to App Store policies.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the information you enter into Memento. You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the app's functionality.

Health information disclaimer

Memento is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Life expectancy estimates are based on publicly available actuarial data and optional Apple Health metrics. They are approximations and should not be relied upon for medical, financial, or legal decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.

Intellectual property

All content, design, and code within Memento are owned by Memento and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the app.

Limitation of liability

Memento is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Memento shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising from your use of the app. Memento uses Apple's iCloud service for optional data synchronization. We are not responsible for data loss, sync delays, or service interruptions caused by iCloud or related Apple services.

Termination

You may stop using Memento at any time by deleting the app from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app if these terms are violated. Active subscriptions can be cancelled through your Apple ID settings; deletion of the app alone does not cancel a subscription.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may notify you through the app or App Store update notes. Continued use of Memento after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
